Volkswagen ID.3 with 550 km autonomy

· Electric cars

Volkswagen and its customers embark on a new era in environmentally friendly mobility and present the purely electric ID.3 at IAA 2019. It is the first model based on Volkswagen's newly developed MEB platform for electric cars, and it will set a new standard by be the brand's first CO2-neutral model.

ID.3 will also impress with the good driving dynamics so characteristic of electric cars, it will be fully connected and will initially have a range of up to 420 km (WLTP) in all three variants of the special model ID.3 1ST. These models will be equipped with the most in-demand battery of 58 kWh. In the series-produced version, it will later be possible to choose a smaller battery of 45 kWh and a larger 77 kWh battery, which provides 330 and 550 km autonomy respectively (WLTP). Thanks to the possibility of fast charging, an ID.3 1ST with a charging power of 100 kW in 30 min. charged to a range of approx. 290 km (WLTP) or approx. 200 km range when driving on the motorway, which is a new standard for cars in this car class.

From a purely optical point of view, Volkwagen ID.3 electric car also signals that it is more than just a new model. Its visionary design is a visual statement that clearly indicates a new era in e-mobility, while the interior design takes full advantage of the space benefits of the compact electric driveline. With exterior dimensions like a Golf, the cabin of the ID.3 offers impressive space for a car in this segment.

By 2050, the entire Volkswagen Group aims to become CO2-neutral. The Volkswagen brand alone will invest approx. 9 billion euros in electric mobility and over the next 10 years it will produce over 10 million electric cars and introduce over 20 different electric models.
